About the Director


Nicholas Humphries PF

Nicholas Humphries is an award-winning Canadian director whose most recent feature, Charlotte’s Song, screened at the 2015 Vancouver International Film Festival (VIFF).  His first feature film, Death Do Us Part, is available on iTunes and DVD through Anchor Bay, Raven Banner Entertainment in Canada, and Indigo in the UK.  Death Do Us Part was the #7 Horror film on iTunes Canada the week of its release.  A number of his short films have been licensed for distribution, including the award-winning The Little Mermaid (#1 “Most Popular” on  Also, Nicholas’ short film, M is for Messiah, was selected for distribution through Drafthouse Films on ABC’s of Death 1.5.  Nicholas’ previous work includes the 2nd Chapter of the Syfy digital series, Riese: Kingdom Falling.  It was distributed internationally through NBC Universal (dubbed in many languages), re-cut as a feature for broadcast on SPACE Channel and distributed on DVD in Australia.

Co-Producer on CBC’s Multiple Award-Winning Mini-Series: BOOK OF NEGROES
Associate Producer on Alliance’s feature film: BLINDNESS
Executive Producer on feature film, SLEEPING GIANT, which Won Best Canadian First Feature at TIFF 2015 and was nominated for Best Motion Picture at the 2016 Canadian Screen Awards.  

Aeschylus Poulos launched his company, Hawkeye Pictures, as the Executive Producer on Andrew Cividino’s feature film, Sleeping Giant, produced in association with Hawkeye Pictures. The film had its world premiere at Cannes 2015 and has gone on to win numerous international and domestic awards, including Best Canadian First Feature at TIFF 2015.  Prior to Hawkeye, Aeschylus was a Producer at Foundry Films (Cairo Time, The Bang Bang Club), where he co-produced Ruba Nadda’s thriller, Inescapable, starring Academy Award winner, Marisa Tomei; Kate Melville’s acclaimed, Picture Day, starring Sundance award winner, Tatiana Maslany; and at Blue Ice where he co-produced the mini-series, The Book of Negros and the thriller, October Gale, starring Patricia Clarkson.  Hawkeye Pictures is currently in active development on a varied slate of feature films, television and digital content.
